MESSAGE FROM
THE CO-CHAIRS
We are excited and proud to introduce you to the 51st annual Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop (CEW) being held on October 5-8, 2025, at the Victoria Convention Centre in the beautifully breath-taking coastal city of Victoria, British Columbia.

This year's theme is entitled "Holistic protection of our ecosystems: Integrating ecotoxicology science into coastal and inland management”. This theme captures our vision of this year’s workshop, in light of the workshop’s venue.

The scientific program for CEW 2025 will comprise engaging and thought-provoking sessions, panel discussions and short courses, owing to the efforts and vision of our scientific committee and session chairs. The diversity of the sessions will highlight cutting-edge research, encourage inter-disciplinary dialogue, and provide a forum for lively discussion on issues related to all aspects of ecotoxicology.

-
This year's program will commence with an extraordinary plenary session, devoted to the topic: “Western Science, Traditional Knowledge and the Two-eyed Seeing Concept: An Opportunity for Meaningful Collaboration and Integration in Environmental Monitoring and Ecotoxicology”.
-
CEW has always been known for its excellent student program, and this year will be no exception. We extend our gratitude to the dedicated Graduate Student Advisors (GSAs) and team of student program organizers responsible for organizing this invaluable opportunity for our future professional ecotoxicologists.
-
Our social program will include Sunday evening’s opening reception and Tuesday evening’s banquet – with great food, entertainment (“The Timebenders”) and dancing – always a highlight of the workshop.

The co-chairs want to extend our sincerest thanks to our sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, presenters and attendees, all of whose support has made this event possible. Your contributions are always invaluable in sustaining and advancing the vital work of ecotoxicology in Canada. As a non-profit organization run by volunteers, CEW's success is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing team of organizing committee members, board members, excellent GSAs, whose tireless efforts will make this unforgettable celebration possible.
Welcome to Victoria, and to the 51st Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop!
